Why Stan?

There are many reasons why I chose to come to California State University of Stanislaus. First off I applied to many other campuses such as Chico, San Francisco and Sonoma. One of the main reasons why I chose to come to stan was because of my financial issues. It was the cheapest and closest school for me to attend. My parents didn't care what school I went to but I chose to come to this school. I didn't want to depend on my parents to pay for other resources that I needed for school that financial aid couldn't cover if I were to get a dorm. Also I stayed closer to home so I could take care of my family whenever they needed me to. The next reason was because I was not ready to leave my house and be on my own. I think the reason why I was so scared of being on my own was because I’ve never been on my own or separate from my family. Being at Stan has allowed me to somewhat be on my own. The campus is not too far but not too close to my house. I live 20 minutes away. On Mondays and Wednesdays i'm at school for so long that it feels as if i'm on my own. The last reason was because the environment at Stan was comfortable for me. This is the only campus I was able to explore and tour around. My parents were always too busy working so I couldn’t go to the other campuses. Although there are moments where I wished I chose a further campus, I am glad that my final decision was Stan.

    Me too! Wanted to stay closer to home and I don't live far away from Turlock either.

    That was one of the reasons why I came to Stan too because, it's cheaper and affordable.

In this blog, I will be writing about studying. Throughout high school, I would hardly ever study. If i studied for tests, I would notice that my grades would be worse than the times that i didn’t study. So that’s why I would hardly every study. Now, in college it's so much different. 1st semester.....

As the semester is coming closer to an end, I have sort of been getting the hang of school now. Recently I've been trying to focus more on school so I can have a distraction because if I don't have a distraction I start feeling sad. These mood swings have been causing me to want to get my act straight and focus more on my education and less about relationship and other things that are unnecessary at the moment. I feel like my happiness and education should come first. Today I have finished four assignments including this one. I like being kept busy. Unfortunately if I work on too much I start getting anxiety because my brain cannot process so much information from so many subjects at the same time anymore. To kill more time and to keep me even more busy I am planning to start going to the gym again and keep it up. Struggles of being in groups

In one of my classes my professor put us into groups with other students that they think we will work good with. We've had the same group since the beginning of the semester. The first project went well. I wasn't worried about whether or not we would finish it on time. We communicated very well and aced the project and presentation. Unfortunately I feel like our communication has gone down the drain for this new project. Our project is due Friday and we still have to finish our ten page research essay, powerpoint, printing out all the pages and putting it into our book and preparing for our presentation thats on Monday. Im nervous because theres so much to do and I don't know if we'll be able to finish it on time. I try to be the one to remind them without being THAT person who bothers everyone but its a group grade so if they fail then I fail. I can't let that happen.
